Career Opportunity: Business Development Manager

IPC — Association Connecting Electronics Industries is looking to hire a Business Development Manager.  The Business Development Manager (BDM) will build and develop relationships with customers and prospects to identify, qualify and close new business opportunities.  The BDM is responsible for selling the full suite of IPC products and services and will be accountable for customer development and satisfaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Build and develop positive relationships with customers and prospects who will have a wide variety of roles and responsibilities
  • Effectively manage internal and external relationships to maximize customer growth  and total customer satisfaction
  • Ultimately responsible to ensure that the promises and assurances made by sales are delivered
  • Organize and lead pursuit teams to bring appropriate solutions forward that meet customer/prospect demands
  • Use CRM to document customer/prospect communication activities, opportunities and customer service issues
  • Build database through referrals/leads, cold calls, social networking, etc. to identify key individuals
  • Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual revenue quotas as well as expected activity metrics
  • Effectively communicate to IPC leadership trends, opportunities, issues, changes and news within the industry with your recommendation for IPC action
  • Achieve proficient knowledge of the full set of IPC products and services
  • Represent IPC at various events as needed
  • Conduct effective annual territory planning with quarterly updates
  • Travel as needed (may include some international travel) may be up to 75%

REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 2-4 years of Business Development/Sales experience; experience selling both products and services, preferably in the Electronics Industry. 
  • Experience selling with a formal methodology such as Miller-Heiman, SPIN, Strategic Selling or similar
  • Proficient with CRM and Microsoft Office Suite, NetSuite a plus.
  • BA/BS preferred in Engineering, Electronics, Business, or related field. 
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically to successfully engage and develop relationships
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong business acumen
  • Willingness to travel and work independently as well as work as part of a team
