In February 2023, IPC organized technical workshops & Industry networking in the Cities of Uttarakhand & Andhra Pradesh & Start the Standard Development Activities in India
Technical Workshops & Industry Networking
These workshops were conducted to assist engineers in understanding the design and manufacturing process of IPC products and how to use the latest technologies to improve efficiency. The workshops also provided the opportunity to discuss best practices and troubleshoot any problems they may have encountered.
A networking event & technical workshop was organized for the electronics industry in Vizagapatam, Andhra Pradesh, by IPC INDIA on February 7, 2023. The honourable Secretary, VIZAGAPATAM CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY, Rolland Williams, welcomed the guests. Dr. Y Sreenivas Rao, Director, Naval Sciences & Technological Laboratory, DRDO, Ministry of Defence, Government of India With many naval & defence organizations in & around Vishakhapatnam, the region is poised for growth in a variety of electronic manufacturing sectors.....which highlighted the need for local industry and focus on innovation and the importance of the private sector in the growth of the defence industry.
There was a networking event and technical workshop organized by IPC INDIA in Rudrapur on February 9, 2023, one of India's major automotive hubs. Pantnagar & Rudrapur have prominent OEM & supplier presences and houses companies in power, and consumer electronics. In order to meet the stringent requirements of the automotive industry, the IPC has provided support to the electronics industry in the region with quality standards.
IPC India conducted a business networking event in Bangkok, Thailand on February 28th in collaboration with Thailand Printed Circuits Association(THPCA). This networking event was organized to open up business opportunities for Thai Electronics companies in India, where THPCA being associated with their members in Thailand had invited them to the event. Mr. David Bergman, Vice President (Standards & Technology) IPC, presented the Importance of Standards in the electronics manufacturing process, which gave the audience an idea about the importance and necessity of standards in a manufacturing unit. Mr. Gaurab Majumdar, Executive Director, IPC India highlighted the Business Opportunities For Thai electronics companies in India, which was the main discussion point throughout the event and Ms. Xiao, President, IPC Asia continued the discussion on elaborating the support that can be offered to Thai companies by IPC through IPC activities in Asia - China, Japan, Korea, Vietnam & Thailand. The event was a huge success and will be likely to be continued in coming years, IPC will be able to support further Thai companies in electronics for Trade and investment in India through business matchmaking.
Standards Committee Meeting
IPC India has started the number of Standard Development activities. Following meetings have been conducted
in the presence of Mr. David Bergman, (VP- Standards & Technology) during 22-25 Feb. 2023.
The first live automotive solutions committee meeting took place at Pune.
The aim of this meeting was to discuss on the Automotive OEM Supplier Check List focussing on various industry requirement.
As part of the meeting, representatives from prominent Indian automotive industry presented views on the current challenges and opportunities in the sector.
Bengaluru IPC INDIA come up with Standard Development teams for EMS & Wire Harness domain in india region. The two committee consists of a representative from prominent EMS and Wire Harness organisations.
Committees identified core topics as well for working in the coming times towards having the global standards/ guidelines document.
This drive will connect Indian organisations to come at a common platform and fulfilling the mission of Build Electronics Better.
IPC India PCB Design Committee (IoT, EMI_EMC, and EV) presented it's progress and road map for the coming months.
With these initiatives, Standard Development activities in IPC India are taken place in a big way since its inception in 2010.
