Electronics are central to the digital economy.
The electronics assembly sector, represented by the printed circuit board (PCB) and the electronics manufacturing services (EMS), are critical for electric mobility, renewable technologies, aerospace/defence and the smart factories of the future. Ensuring access to the electronics assembly sector is critical to ensuring European industrial competitiveness and ensuring key technologies are available in the single market. Against this backdrop, the European Commission’s Department for Internal Market (DG GROW) set up a workshop on June 23, inviting the electronics assembly sector and end-users to a dialogue on how to support the resilience of the electronics value chain.
A working group of electronics stakeholders and end-user industries has been tasked with producing a report on the health of the European industry and its future needs. To this end, IPC in collaboration with this stakeholder community has launched a survey to collect data on where industry see the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats in the electronics value chain, and to collect ideas from stakeholders for concrete policy initiatives.
The survey is open to any stakeholder with European operations. This survey is hosted on a secure platform. Data provided will be treated in strict confidence and no company-specific data will be shared outside the IPC survey team. The report will only contain aggregated data.
The consultation will close on Friday 14 July at 23:59 CET. Any submission after this deadline risks not being reflected in the report.
We thank you in advance for your input and look forward to sharing the final report with you.
