Electronic designs are more complex and require close attention to design rules, software tools, manufacturing capabilities, and collaboration across the supply chain. To address these issues the IPC Design Leadership Global Industry Council (DLC) has been established.

DLC Objectives
- Develop industry consensus and roadmap the future of DESIGN in electronicsAssess Standards landscape and provide proposals for future needs
- Build-up IPC DESIGN community with committee member proposals
- Guide and support with hands-on the IPC DESIGN Competition
- Identify training needs for DESIGN topics
- Support the content and planning of new DESIGN events
- Assess IPC DESIGN for Manufacturing (DFM) profiles and support implementations in Electronic Design Automation (EDA) software
